Gutted, brakes too big :(

Was a bit conserned as to if my new 18" bbs rx2s would fit over the new brakes.
Went out today (said i'd try fit them ages ago but was raining heavy then went offshore) and tryed a wheel on. Gutted it didn't clear the caliper catches by quire a bit was unable to even get the wheel on the hub.
So i think the wheels might be going on the bay. Gutted as i really liked the wheels

The Rs4 brakes are f'ing big, can't say I've ever been left wanting with 314s but I know what a mate's 365mm RS4 setup is like on his B5 S4 and it's another world

Replica wheels can be thicker, as can some 2 or 3 piece designs... Pete's S4 had to have the calliper carriers modified to fit under B7 RS4 replicas and there was no way they'd fit under his 18" RKIIs. Sounds like it's time for some 19s May I suggest MTM Bimoto replicas as I like them

Probably be a good idea to make a profile template ...a good starting point being the wheel that doesn't clear the caliper. Adjust the profile to one that does clear the caliper.

Then you can check it on the wheels you like and see if they would fit (either as-is or with a suitable spacer) before you hand over hard-earned notes!

I've got 18" replica rs8 wheels and they clear the caliper. Quite like these wheels but can't see the brakes behind them lol Seen them bbs (Genuine BBS) wheels and really really liked them and they would show the breaks off too But it's not to be
Got to change a wheel bearig soon so will have the hub off the car and will be easyer to fit the wheel to the hub and see how much clearance i've got on the caliper.
