Hi guys,
I recently started having a problem with the braking system on my car, it's a 1993 URS4 now running the HP2 disc setup. When I first start the car and begin driving, the ABS light stays off, but when it comes to braking you can feel the ABS trying to kick in nearly all the time, which as you can imagine is rather dangerous as there is almost no braking power.
After a period of time whilst driving (the time period varies almost from 30 seconds to the whole journey) the ABS light will come on completely randomly, I've tried to see if there is a pattern as to when it comes on but so far I can see no pattern.
Once the ABS light does come on, the problem with no braking power dissapears and the ABS stops trying to cut in all the time.
I'm assuming I have a problem with the ABS sensors, the ones I am using are the ones that came with the HP2 struts. So my main questions are:
Is this a common problem for when either 1 or both of the sensors are working incorrectly?
Are the ABS sensors the same for both setups?
And
Is it more likely to be a problem with the sensors themselves or the actual ABS control unit?
Many thanks
Henry
