As I said, new bomb fitted and if anything brakes are worse.
Anything that I could have missed when installing new one.
Noticed that the small filter on the banjo connection was a little squashed into the pipe, not by much though, took it out to clean and re-seated,but still looks a little pinched

Rob, i agree with Andy that this could be an ABS problem.

When i did my hub swap i couldn't get the rear sensors out and destroyed them trying, so i was driving with no ABS sensors plugged in on the rear. I found the ABS would randomly cut in, but not actuate properly, so basically the pedal went hard and braking performance was shocking, there was no actuation by the ABS. If i pumped the pedal it would release the ABS trigger and give me back full bracking power,. meaning i locked up bigtime. Really very dangerours so i pulled over and removed the 2 relays from the ABS unit itself. Sorted. Sounds like you might have a problem with your pump / actuator, like the opposite of what was happening to mine.
Try removing the relays in your ABS unit.
(be careful though a few peopled mentioned it negates the brake balance valve or something, don't go mad on the brakes etc etc.. !!) Try that, i'd also suggest trying to swap the unit for a known good one if at all possible.

I think that might be something to do with your problem mate. HTH

Might try your route Alex and see what happens, other than that the servo is the only thing that hasn't been changed. It has been checked and found to be ok AFAIK.
The question now is,do I want to know how much a new one is and where would be a good place to source a decent second hand one.

Just did a little research and i think the 7A ones are different. Only asked cos i have one going spare.

I don't know the price of a new one but i can safely guess the price from audi is easier to measure in sexual favours...

Send a PM to RE2500. Think he has a spare from an ABY Avant.

                        P.S. Congrats on the wedding

i have an S2 servo on my 7A CQ, so guessing they work the other way round too.

I have had a bad servo in my CQ Rob when i fitted the S2 one, and from what you are describing it doesn't sound like that. You can test the servo seals by removing the hydraulic return hose from the underside of ther servo, if you get more than a couple drops of fluid, your servo is faulty. News ones are about £400 IIRC

I'd suggest pulling the ABS relays and looking at the ABS unit / sensors first stop
