Seat Brackets with 330mm discs

Looking at this shot I nicked of sonic (cheers )



These are the dimensions for running with 323mm discs.

Am I correct in saying that to run with 330mm discs I would remove no material from the caliper mounting face and need to ad +0.5mm spacer between the caliper and bracket ?

Well 323+3x2 = 329 so I would have to agree you're right with the 0.5mm spacer but you might not even need that depending on how the discs and pads sit.

What can you get 330mm discs off then?

i think the seat leon coura r has 330 discs no idea about the stud pattern though

Will be 5x100 but it's the hat height that's the bit you can't machine..

agree, options available with correct hat height are:

314x30
323x30
345x30

These are all off the Old style Audi a8/s8

There are a couple of other options i cant verify that might work off the a6 (347x30 on a 5x112) and i think one off the a4 which was a 330x30 but think the hat heights would definately need to be checked.

Brought the disc's off andyg plym. they are off a car that ran 996 set up

Disc is 330x30 hat height (total) 60mm 5 x 112.

No idea what there off, but should mean the seat bracket needs machining on only 1 face ?

Hmm, that carrier(/bracket) is from leon cupra, right?

If you have the disks by you could you please check for any part numbers or something?

At the moment I'm working in a place where I could remove material by myself from the brackets. And it's of course alot easier to only remove from one side.

Of course if you're making brackets up then you can custom machine the offset to suit of course making sure that they clear everything including the wheels, struts etc. etc.

You'll still need to remove 4.5mm from the carrier to strut mounting face. That brings the 996 calliper in line with the disc.

I have to agree with Jase, I think the caliper mounting face is the side that has 3mm machined off.

That's correct Matt as the long through bolts thread into that side.

Jase, that's what rj scotty is suggesting and then the addition of a 0.5mm spacer to enable a 330mm disc to be used as the unmachined carrier would accept a 329mm disc. You might get away without the spacer, you might not, it's a suck it and see job methinks.

Exactly Andy, When I get the brackets machined I will get the spacer made up at the same time and hopefully won't use it

As for a part number for the discs I can't help there there is nothing stamped on them.

There appearers to be some mystery surrounding these discs, andyp plym is of the impression they are A8 based ?

I'll let people know how it all bolts up.

yes mate they are A8 discs 330mm. these discs can be used with 996 and rs2 (porsche 968) callipers.
ive got rs2 carriers on mine
