Im gonna try get my hands on one to take some measurements, it happens to be a merc disc and can get a pair either drilled, grooved or both for about £160.
Will the calipers from a GT3 be suitable?
They should fit ok, as long as the disc sits as close to the strut as possible (without actually touching anything), this should give you enough clearance from the calipers front face to the inside of the wheel, without the need for spacers.
I am going bigger on the ur, I was going to use another Merc disc, 320x30mm but if this measures out ok then I may use this instead, as long as the hat height is less than 45mm (for the ur).
That's not going to fit the ur, ******!!!
The inside hat measurement is the most critical, as this will determine whether it will fit on the car.
The rest just determines which caliper and which wheel.
You will need custom brackets though. RS2 items will not space the caliper correctly, both diametrically and axelially.
well its good news they will fit anyway. Im not actually sure what merc this discs came from at the moment though. Getting some carriers made shouldnt be too much of a problem, and would rather have those made because they wont need changing in the future. How do i go about measuring up for those? Also can u pm me about prices for suitable calipers please corey. I think I will have a go at doing the setup myself. Just goto get the dimensions right.
How does the centre bore on the discs affect handling, breaking etc? with the alot of the options for different discs they have a larger centre bore. Id like to know how this will affect the brakes compared to the standard S2's?

Greg
If the spigot bore (the bit that locates the disc on the hub) is larger on the disc, you will need an adaptor to ensure the disc runs concentric to the disc.
Nasty things will happen if this is not done!
i thought that might be the case. I will have to machine myself some adapters since audi has 57mm centre bore and merc uses 66.5. I guess they are a bit like the plastic ones you get with some alloy wheels to make sure they fit on the centre bore correctly.
Ive been searching thru on the brembo link again, i think i have found some suitable discs, i have an issue with the hat height though. Wondering if the disc will sit too deep inside the wheel. Here are the pics with the dimensions on.
Greg, that 70mm dimension on the merc disk seems quite a lot to me, i reckon the centre line of disk will be sitting 17.5mm further inboard.
and disk surface will be 21mm closer to the caliper mounting lugs on the hub, so i think you'll have clearence issues with these.
anyone correct me if im wrong as i'm half asleep at the moment
i'll have a look at measurements i took when i get home later this morning.
