RS2 banjo braided lines with 996 calipers?

Before i go and get some custom hoses made up to fit with 996 monos, i wanted to check whether the RS2 banjo fitting front hoses might work?

I've already got the upper braided piece from the chassis to the strut, so I really only need the final run of hose from the short section of hardline around the strut to the caliper.

Anyone know if these banjo fitting hoses for the RS2 work? I'm unsure if they'll be long enough

      Thanks James,
I'll whip a wheel off and check tomorrow.... i guess they look dead short compared to what i remember when fitting the stock braided lines

I have exactly the same question, need to get some ordered up.

I have the RS2 hardlines and the 996 monoblocs plus 323 S8 discs, all to go on. Just need the caliper bolts & flexi hoses.

I also thought the above Vagparts flexi lines looked a bit short so was going to give them a call on Monday before ordering...

yes they will mate, measured my stock ones today.. they are about 180mm but the 996 caliper is bigger so should work fine

If you have the rs2 hard line from calliper to the strut you them need a braided line to the
hard line from body .They look to short if its going to go behind the strut unless
you have a different rs2 hard line from me.

I already have the two braided lines to replace the stock rubber ones, with the hardline in between around the strut as per the pic at the top.
These banjo lines should replace just the lower hose from the strut to the caliper.... you'll still need the upper braided hose and the short hardline around the strut

what about standard s2 lines. Will these allow me to connect beteen a 996 caliper and the standard s2 brake lines

they should replace the lower brake hose on the S2 as per the pic, but you may as well replace the upper one and the short hardline round the strut while you're at it

VAG Parts don't do a replacement braided hose for the hard line, the hoses they do are the shorter link hose between the main line and RS2 hardline. No idea about the lengths of the OE S2 line compared to RS2 but I'd guess that the RS2 ones are quite a bit longer.

Andy - does this mean that the RS2 hardline plus the short flexi hose above will do the job?

Sure does, that's the setup I'll have when I eventually get the short flexi fitted. Makes maintenance a bit of a pig butI'll just have to use the brakes less

                              Thanks for that Andy

Is there a better alternative (starting from scratch)?
