    Brake pad recommendation...

I know you're all going to say DS2500 but it's only for my 20v 90 fwd, so something less that nearly £100 worth should do.

It has Pagid Fast Road at the moment but they seem to be non existent now

Brakes are still standard Girling twin pots.

    Cheers.

PS Part used/good pads considered too, cos i'm cheap...er tight...

Pagid Fast Road are pretty decent although quite dusty. Have you tried GSF? They normally stock these.

Check order code 64580. 35 pounds a pair. Hmm, they are Pagid TQ rather than Fast Road. Probably best to phone them.

The ones on my 90q 20v sport were an Ebay special at £6.99. Made by Chase.

No complaints at all. They've been on 2 years now and they've got plenty of life left

TQ isn't fast road as I found out with the rears. Mintex C Tech 1144s are good if they do them.

i found my black diamond predator pads very good, never found myself needing more bite, even at the ring. Did fade after HEAVY use tho, you'd have no problems on the road or short track days tho.

What i leaned from my recent germany trip (ferodo is the top brand out there) is that ferodo dont make pads for the girling 60 caliper. I needed more agressive pads when i was at the 'ring as my brakes were a joke. The best any place could get me was Pagid Blue Race pads @ £170 ouch. Safe to say i didnt buy them and just changed the way i was driving.

                  Hmmmmm...

Mine being the 20v sport should have the same twin pot brakes as the s2 operating on 276mm front discs, looks like the FDS775 is the correct one.

                  Goes off to check.

Ditto that, now using predator pads front and back to replace Green stuff versions and far superior though wheels now need cleaning more often!

Can anyone give me some feedback on de comparison between Textar (which I have currently), Ferodo DS2500 and Yellow Stuf brake pads in the field of dust creation? I am so fed up with cleaning my rims after every ride. Is it also happening with the other pads? I need them for my Porsche GT3 mk1 brake calipers.

The Ferodo number that I currently looking at is FRP3050H but costs double the amount of the Textars

Come on guys......I read many people run Ferodo and Yellow Stuff brake pads and not a single person is willing to tell me how much dust they create? Are they as bad as Textar?

textars dust masses more than the ds2500's, though they dust up pretty well too, though the bite and performance of the 2500 is a league different (read better) than the textars. Don't know much about the yellows but given my experience with the 2500 and that o fothers on the forum with the same setup, i see little reason to change.

as for the OP, i was impressed with the Pagid FR's, mintex 1144's were expensive and had little feel and ate discs, the pads just never died they were so hard and have a copper mix IIRC. DS2500 dont exist for the girling (even though the catalogue suggests different, BTDT) and the pagids further up the range (black, blue etc) as mentioned above a very expensive. Biggest limiting factor to be honest is the stock disc dimensions, just totally undersized to perform.
