Thanks for that S2. I've been reading a couple of other posts whilst doing this and read that paul@custom auto parts does a great price on these. Will he have mine in stock or will one from a different model fit? I.E. S2 fit a 90?

The parts list I gave you is for your 90... but yes there is lots of commonality though you MUST get the right type for your car. The earlier one and its pipes and brackets will not fit straight into your car.

They are expensive new at dealer rates - don't forget our own parts suppliers who are forum sponsors - VAGparts and Quattro Corner.

If you aren't in a hurry, there is someone on the mainland that can refurbish the bombs for a lot less money than new. YOu need to send your old one in. The technology is common to Citroens apparently - can't remember the guys name - search the forum on it.

I have two old bombs that I always keep meaning to refurbish and offer up on eBay but aint got organised yet !

Just had a mail back from Paul at custom auto craft asking me to confirm which type of bomb I have. Am I right in thinking its the one with the square section after the cylinder and NOT the round one?

Thanks for all the help people, it is most appreciated. ust thought that I'd let you know that I have been offered a new bomb from CustomAutoCraft for 136 Euros. Thats roughly £112. Not bad I think.
