    Bigger Brakes!!

Although my S6 has Tarox G88 brakes all round I would like to replace them with bigger kit all the way round too. (The suspension was all replaced a couple of years ago)

Is there any point going to 323mm (S8) fronts when I have already got 314mm fitted to the front or would it be prudent to save a little more and go for 334mm, etc (My wheels are 18”)

In addition, what would be a good choice for the rear brakes keeping everything proportionally the same to front brakes? (Or is there any point since all my cars weight is over the front end ish)
(So if you went the front 323mm or 334mm route, etc.)

    Regards,

    Andy H.

If you're running monoblocks then get some Ferodo DS2500 pads from circuit supplies, should transform the brakes and might save you a few hundred pounds. I doubt that 323s will be much more powerful. There's the 365mm RS6 option, they'll stop a supertanker! Grooved discs are all very well but they kill pads as I'm sure you've found out

      I'm running the 347mm Brembo/Audi A8 discs. And they're REALLY good.

        Hi,

        I have got to ask!

What bits did you use and what was the final cost if you do not mind me asking? Can I assume you used a Goodridge hose kit as well? Did you do anything to your rear brakes? Or was it not necessary?

Thanks for considering me for your RS2 turbo but I will be fitting new kit when I eventually get round to it all.

        Regards,

        Andy.

I used some second hand Hi-Spec Monster 4 calipers, the 347mm discs direct from Audi (£140 I think but that was with discount) and I haven't done anything with the rear brakes. I'm not sure what the recommended upgrade path for an S6 is, but the B6 S4 setup may be appropriate.

Re the RS2 turbo, it's been rebuilt with a better than new bearing so it could be considered to be better than new
