    S6 Avant Rear Brake Problem

The near side rear brake keep sticking causing it to overheat and rumble.I have had it of the car two or three times to try and fix it by freeing every thing of etc,and have fitted a new hand brake cable,it works for a while but the the problem returns, its always the same wheel,no problems with the rest. Any ideas would be appreciated

    Is it the caliper sliders?
The 2 pistons that allow the caliper to float - these often seize up.
You can get a new set of seals for about £10, then its just a simple strip and clean job and put on the new bellows/seals with liberal amounts of grease.

If you are sure that the ebrake cables are running free and not sticking (due to rust), it will either be the slider pins or the ebrake cam (stuck). Here is a procedure that should help you rehab the pins and ebrake cam:

If not, here is a procedure (more for others) on how to replace the rear caliper(s) on a C4 UrS (4 or 6):

      Good luck.
