    ABS sensor fault help

after spending the day the day friggin around with the cv boot i now have an abs sensor fault showing on vag com needless to say it's the side that i was messing with.

The fault says open circuit b+, i didn't remove the sensor or wiring before removing the driveshaft, i did clean the abs ring as it got covered in grease during the proceedings maybe the sensor is also greased up??? any ideas or am i looking at a new sensor???

    Cheers

ABS sensors are fickle things, sometimes it just takes a slight knock for them to die.
It may also be that the sensor got knocked and just moved too far away from the abs ring to detect it?
I suspect that its a goner though, you can do a resistance check across it with a meter, you should get something like 19 ohms????? basically, if it isn't open circuit you're ok and the fault lies somewhere else, if it is o/c, you're fooked - I think a new one is £70 odd.
    good luck!

CAREFUL! removing abs sensor usually destroys it. test resistance first, then if its o/c, you can remove it.
