ABS now works all the time

Right here we go again, the old sensor was toast so i have bought a new one from GSF fitted it abs light is now out on the dash and no fault codes only thing is the abs now works all the time.

The sensor is fitted right all plugged in right any ideas what is going on???? My only thought is that the abs ring on the shft is too dirty or something, like i said vag com shows a happy system clearly it's not!!!

sounds like sensor too far from ring - therefore although it has continuity (i.e. not o/c) it is not detecting the on/off/on/off signal it should when wheels are turning, therefore it thinks its in a skid situation - get the gap down boyo!
Incidentally, how much was the new sensor?

Thanks for that the sensor was £37.00 (for an A6) it's pushed in as far as it can go!!!!! oh well time to go and have another look i might give the ring a squirt with some brake cleaner.
