    S8/A8 Pheaton Brakes on a s2 Avant?

Im sorry guys, im sure this has been covered a million times before, and beleive me I have done plenty of searches for the answers im looking for.

Recently replaced the discs and pads at the front of the avant for the MOT, but they are still crap brakes, and last week, another problem, binding brake from a piston not returning into the caliper fully.. nice!!!

I want to upgrade the fronts to start, and have read, im sure that the S8 brakes fit the s2, is this correct? or am i barking up the wrong tree?

What do I need, and if these dont fit, whats the best inexpensive option available to me?

996 monoblocks are hard to beat for the money and relative ease of fitment. That gets you up to 322mm disc (from A8/S8) if you have 17" or larger wheels. Need to come down to 314 or smaller with 16" wheels - depending on what brackets you go with - Seat Cupra or RS2.

There is a really good sticky thread or two on the monoblock options. If you have deeper pockets then there are bigger options available - like the 345 or 360mm fronts that s2avant fitted to his car.

You can make almost anything fit if you have the ability to design and manufacture an adaptor to mount the caliper then find a disc to suit. If not you have to pay some one to do it and for a 1off that's going to be very expensive. Search the brake section, everything you need to know about fitting 996 calipers is in there.
