lucas 54mm calipers and s2 discs?

Right part way through the 5 stud conersion on the cab and (contrary to the receipt when the conversion was done) its not got s2 (girling g60 twin pots). Instead its got stock v6 54mm Lucas single pot calipers.
Does anyone know if i can use these with the s2 front discs? not had a chance to measure disc width etc yet
    Thanks

Are the discs you have at the moment vented? If not, then no.

2.6 engines use 280x22 discs. the pads are different, so if you use G54 pads, the friction area will be very small on the disk.

Don't the Golf lot use the G60s with the 280mm disc? If so then you'd hope that the revers was possible, deal breaker will be disc thickness and / or hat height. There are usually some G60s for sale, or ask about.

I was hooping to use what ive already got as i plan to go the 996 route at some point. Trying to get hold of a mate at the moment with a par of s2 carriers then ill see if the discs and pads will fit n the lucas caliper. Fingers crossed

Sorry I'm probably just confused, but I don't think the single pot caliper will fit onto the twin pot carrier. If you want twin pot discs, you need the twin pot caliper and the twin pot carrier surely?

of course not. the girling 60 carriers are much longer. and VW never ever had the girling 60 calipers stock. G60 engined cars had girling 54 calipers.

                    like i said, 2.6 engine had 280x22 and girling 60 (2.8 and S2) had 276x25.
