    S6 Brakes AP racing

I recently purchased some AP racing 6 pot calipers that came from the front of an S6.
So there I am thinking they will go straight on my S6 (who wouldn't!), however, when the bell housing is mated up to the hub, the disc touches the strut, and ideally needs to come out about 3mm.
I spoke to the guy who I bought the brakes off and he said there were no other bits, spacers ie.

I 've seen the original invoice for the brakes and they were fitted in 1998 by B.R.Motorsport.

They wouldn't of grinded the strut out would they?

Any help woul be greatly appreciated.

I don't know in this instance but with the Cayenne brake conversion you need to grind some material from the strut face to clear the disc, so it's possible that you need to do this here. If the calipers fit ok then the chances are you won't be able to use spacers behind the disc as it will push them too far out. I would test fit the calipers, then you should be able to gauge exactly where the disc should sit in relation to the caliper. That will show you whether there's something missing or whether you just need to grind the strut face.
'93 S4 Avant now back on the road complete with new shiny go faster bits.

      Hi URSIMPO,
I expect you bought the brakes off a guy called Tom who was selling all the bits from an MTM S6 Avant that met an unhappy end with a tree.

I've test driven the car they came from (i also have a copy of the BR Motorsport invoice!) and recently bought the Sachs suspension from it. I probably can't help with your problem, but I'll be interested to see how you get on as I'm upgrading the brakes on my S6 as well. Small world!
