    Brembo Six Pots

Just been quoted £276 + vat each BRAND NEW for Brembo 6 pots from a Porsche Specialist!

Now I'm not in the market for these but maybe someone is?

    Cheers

Timucin, It is cheap, calipers for a Carrera are £380 each. I don't know what the calipers are but the price is very cheap.

Possibly they are from a Porsche Cayenne??

Leigh would be able to tell us best.

No idea just called a Porsche specialist to talk calipers (Carrera and Boxster S) and he suggested these 6 pots. Said they were available in 30, 34 and 38mm disk sizes and they were Brembos (I think).

Another option (for you lucky Pound earners ) is to import a set from South Africa.

These are the prices I was quoted:

Boxster S monoblock calipers are: R3244.00 +vat each
Pads are: R1119 + vat per front set
This setup would use the A8 disc.

The 993 turbo stuff (Big Reds) is : R1444 + vat each for the Discs, excluding hat
Pads are: R1059 + vat for a front set
Calipers are: R2902 + vat each

              VAT is 14%

This could be a viable option at 12.5:1 Rands / Pound. I'm not sure if you guys have to pay duties on importing car parts - we pay 20% IIRC

Good question - they said 30, 34 or 38mm versions so I guess some standard discs like S8 (323mm) might fit - maybey they are too small

Carriers would have to be custom made I suppose.

I saw on a US Audi web site a kit to fit the Porsche Cayenne 6 pots to an A4. I have looked and looked and I can't find it again.

The caliper brackets they have may suit or have a chat with Martinjs, he may be able to help.

This sounds very tempting,im in the market for new brakes right this moment too.if enough people were interested we couldssibly do a group buy might be small but might bring it down a tad more. Some carriers be purchased too if anyone here can make em up.

Dr H, would you be able to find out what the part numbers of these Brembo's are from that specialist? Can then see where they come from and look in to this further.

Custom carriers are more than likely needed, just a case of whether or not someone like Martin, could or would be able to make several as i recall it was v time consuming to do the ones he done previous.

I could make some more brackets up, but it does take a while, its mainly machine availability which is the problem, so cant really give a definate idea of when i can get them finished.

Martin, if these turn out to be something usable and obviously depending on exactly whats required, would you be able to make some brackets?

As you would presumably need to have some kind of design to make them from
