    Pads for 968CS calipers...?

Need a little help with finding the right pads for my Calipers.

I have been told that the calipers I have are 968 club sport (black). Think they are the same as the RS2 calipers....but cant be sure.

The pads are getting a bit knackered so been trying to get hold of some ferodo ds2500's.
Spoke to Steve at Questmead...really nice guy and very helpful. Ordered ferodo FCP560H for the 968CS caliper and when they arrived they didnt fit....But noy by much, only difference was that the centre of the back plate where the locating spring clamp closes down on the pads was too short therefore didnt touch the pad at all. Tried all night but couldnt get it to work.

Does anyone have any ideas which pads would fit these calipers....?

    Cheers
    James

I know the calipers and they're not 968 cs. They're Porsche 911 993 calipers. If you order 968 cs pads, you must specify they are M030 option versions. Same pads also went in the 928 S4

Not the same as RS2 pads either as they use a thinner amount of material

      Hi Mike....I see....! MO30 versions

Would make sense as the 968cs pads dont want to go in at all.
Will enquire about MO30 option pads with questmead.

      Thanks
      James

Just draw around the old pad and fax it to Qestmead.
Make sure you haven't a load of corrosion between pad plate and caliper, thats what can stop even the correct pad fitting!

My brake pad catalogue lists this shape/fitment of brake pad as being fitted to...

                  911 (964) 3.3 Turbo front
                  911 (964) 3.3 Turbo S front
                  911 (964) 3.6 Carrera RS front

                  911 (993) 3.6 Carrera front
                  911 (993) 3.6 Carrera 4 front
                  911 (993) 3.6 Carrera 4S rear
                  911 (993) 3.6 Turbo 4 rear
                  911 (993) 3.6 Turbo GT2 rear
                  911 (993) 3.6 Turbo GT2 4 rear
                  911 (993) 3.8 Carrera front
                  911 (993) 3.8 Carrera 4 front
                  911 (993) 3.8 Carrera RS rear
                  911 (993) 3.8 Carrera RS 4 rear

                  928 4.7 1985-1986 front
                  928 5.0 1985-1992 front

                  944 2.5 Turbo 1988-1991 front

                  959 3.0 1987-1991 front

and last but by no means least...

                  968 3.0 Sport (M030) 1992-1995 front

The Ferrodo DS Performance code for this pad appears to be FDS560, and for DS2500s use FCP560H - even though the first post says this doesn't actually fit. Both available according to their website from Motorsport World (linky) (NCTS etc).

Although extraordinarily similar in shape, these really are different to RS2 pads which are 1mm less tall and 2mm less thick (but with the same width), if the dimensions in the catalogue are right.

                  Happy hunting.

                  Ck.

Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...
