What do people suggest is the best way to uprate the brakes, doubt the car will ever go on a track but want some extra braking for the uprated chips i've been tempted with
to be fair the ufo's in good working order arent that bad. Just look like dustbin lids and ****** expensive to replace parts. All depends on budget really mate, hp2 struts give you huge scope to pretty much fit what you like caliper wise

yeah true, i've kinda gotten bored with the other project I was going to do after cutting some bits the other day so thinking of selling the remaining rs2 bits I have and modding the s4 for a bit, it would free up some more funds as well as i've got to meet up with a couple of people sort out some stuff with them.
I am very interested in this thread - I have a UrS4 with a load of RS2 and 034 bits which is pushing somewhere between 360 and 380.Before Icrack the big 400 I want to improve the stoppnig powere and am looking for a no thrills view of which is the best path. I run UFO's, does that mean I have HP2 struts by default?

No,UFOs have a different strut to HP2's.they changed the S4 to Hp2 somewhere around the end of 1993 i believe.All S6's had Hp2s
Stick some HP2's on for starters, I had them on mine ( Homefried ) and they were great, in fact I think they had more bite and feel than the Prosche brakes on my S2. If you need to go further, the Cayenne 6pots are a simple upgrade, ask Dean what they are like!
Have you put any pics up yet?

No not yet, i've got some so might do later. I basically need currently it to handle a remap that will push out more power than a homefries and nitrous on top of that.
i'll have to look into it, i've been offered some callipers but not sure yet what route i want to go with, the porsche setup I had on my s2 I found to be lacking it just didn't seem to stop the car at all.
HP2 strut should be easy to go for Cayenne 6 pots. It's almost bolts right up to the strut.
I have HP2 on my car too.Currently,I'm running 19" RS6 Rims with 2871R Setup from 034's.
I would say the brake is no longer enough anyomre.I have cayenne 6 pots laying around but
due to my time constraints.
Ufo struts and hubs can be modified to accept any brakes. Yes, it might sound hairy to modify your strut and hub with angle grinder, but haven't seen any reliability issues. In fact Mov'it installation instructions tell you to take angle grinder to top caliper ear to mount their brakes.
"diy" version with baby brembos was my last front setup replacing UFO's. In fact you could just buy ready made carrier for them and source caliper yourself and use A8 discs HP2 brakes to ufo strut is also an option, need to loose top caliper mount ear and grind/lathe hub smaller to accept suitable disc (and maybe shim caliper a bit to center on disc correctly if you want, not absolutely necessary though)
All quattro products have been dermatologically tested, and are safe for daily use.
