    interesting rear brake option

Just found this... All thats needed it seems is to choose a disc, machine a bracket and away you go. price isn't that bad either considering its a 4 pot with integrated handbrake mech

Mmm - that is interesting alright... Going by photo of that caliper the handbrake mechanism looks much better suited to B4 - don't forget the B3 (Coupe) handbrake pulls from the side - so cable mods may be required. Certainly worth investigation by someone !

what woould be required to re-route the cable/pull then on a coupe to enable this to function? It's the moste elegant solution i have seen to date for a proper 4 pot rear setup AND handbrake. I was looking at the rears on mitzy's and scooby's and they employ a small brake shoe arrangement inside the disc so that simply won't work without either heaviy modding or some serious compromises.

I could really do with a decent rear brake setup that doesn't cost the earth and on the face of it, it would seem almost achieveable using this...

Nice work, a full bolt on kit would be something like... what? £2k... of course, you could just put some DSs in the rear and press the pedal harder like I've done

noo, i'm looking long term to get a decent setup and a bias bar in there...I'm looking to make it more of a track whore that means those rear calipers need to go as they work 'ok' when they are serviced but over time they become lazy and the guides crud up. I put stainless lines on them when i had the car off the road and that did push a bit more through them...the rear discs have actually worn rather than just rusted themselves into replacement but for a car this big and heave, a nice 4 pot would definately help haul it up a tadge more confidently

Better get saving for the 8 pots up front to balance it out.

Don't forget that some weight reduction will improve the current brake's effectiveness.

really dont know what has happened to money this year, talk about bloody struggle. I have hardly spent a cent on the S2 and I am borderline broke anyway, even re-insuring 3 cars is making my eyes water
