RS2 Brakes, front and rear onto S2 Avant?

I know the rear brakes require a handbrake as the RS2 rear caliper doesnt have one, so I assume I could use a wilwood handbrake caliper, but what about mounting the rear calipers to the rear bearing housing, and what size disc (and from what car) would I need?

and also, I know this isnt the prefered route, but how about fitting the RS2 front calipers to the S2 Avant front end, same as above really, what disc, from what car and what carrier if any coulf I use, or is it a custom job?

    thanks

RS2 on the front has been done before, either skim down the 314 or fit a 323 with the big reds, Monoblocks are better though as they don't suffer the same from corrosion.

As for putting them on the rear, can be done if you're willing to spend the time on it but with the 300+ options available with integrated handbrake, you have to think why?

the reason why all 4 is having the full matched set of calipers.

Whats the largest disc i can fit under each caliper?

        Agree with Rusty,

Believe it or not, when I bought my second S2 Avant it had been converted to RS2 on the brakes, hubs and wheels and I couldn't wait to get them off. The Cups were square, and the hand-brake was non-existent and the 5 x 130 stud pattern stopped me from putting on Avus rims.

IMHO, by all means put on the front calipers, with the 314mm discs reduced to 304mm or buy a custom caliper to allow the "small reds" work with the 314mm disc?

But Monos on the front and standard disc on the rear with a new alloy caliper from a new VW of Audi car should be sufficient for the road. If you must have a bigger back brake, others will be able to give more detail on the various options available from later model Audis.

As mentioend, front 314mm or 323mm should be enough for the road, but not for the pub.

Try the weight of a 323mm disc, you'll be surprised.

Hope the above is on use.

        Kind regards.

I'm going to this route and it's jolly expensive, I wouldn't put the stock RS2 calipers on as they corrode going for monoblocks front and rear.

Forget the stock calipers they aren't as good as the monoblocks plus you can't use off the self discs without having them machined down to 304mm

What caliper brackets are used with this setup?

Paint has nothing to do with the pad retention plate on the top

I found that just the Rs2 small fronts was enough to stop my car , I used EBC redstuff, they don't last long but they don't fade when braking hard either.
I drove my avant from 250kph to 20-30 without any vibration or heating issues with RS2 fronts + redstuff.

Same as Prosty, I've never found my Monoblocks and stock rears wanting, DS2500s and a firm press of the pedal slow the old girl down just fine.

all i can say is the 6 pot gt2 monos are great. even with redstuff.

still to fit my rear 280's though.

i heard about the possability to convert the rear 4 mono's with a handbrake is this true or an engineers next project. i got the rear 4 pot gt2 calipers somewhere too. about as big as the black 4 pot fronts

Problem on the rear is the handbrake mechaism, there have been a few threads over the years about this, I did one last month.
