    boxster s caliper question

Looking at alternative calipers to the usual 996 Boxster S calipers, and have come across what on the face of it seems to be a pretty reasonable alternative £330 pair, brand new! which seems to be whats being asked for a second hand pair of porsche calipers!

    4 pot alloy calipers
    the mounting holes are 130mm
they can take a max disc size of 330x30
the piston sizes are 38.1 and 41.3 (each side of caliper)
    2.8kgs

my question is does anyone have the measurement between the centre of the mounting holes and the centre of the caliper (between pads)

mounting hole centres are 130mm from memory. Offset to mid caliper though I havent a clue. If they happen to be from a renault megan then they do not fit BTDT

sold them to a guy in Finland who was building a monster vw beetle for £330 bidding on them was manic lol

At the time the issue was pad choice as they were from a prototype megane 225 so only brembo were available. I'm sure by now as they are fitted to the clio various meganes, I think the velsatis and others but some other makes that likes of EBC etc will have pads for them

were a nice caliper, looked slightly more rigid than the 996 in some ways and the pad was larger surface area too

Another good car to source decent 4 pot callipers from is an evo, certain one's have been used with the correct size discs and are cheap brand new.

sorry, ive obviously not been clear here.....

                the dimension im looking for is;
looking down onto the top of the caliper, looking at it lengthways left to right with the mounting holes at the top, i need the dimension between the centre of the disc (center of the gap between the pads) and the mounting holes

yeah i understood you....i said i hadn't a clue unfortunately it seems that even the brembo catalogue doesn't give details for any oem calipers rather just their motorsport ones where they list every possible measurement.

I to have a question about these calipers - I may have the option of a set of 996 OR Boxster S calipers to do the brake conversion on my S2 Coupe...

Which is the best option to go for and are there any issue's with mounting them or do they both have the same mount size?

You want the front boxster s calipers, they are what people are refering to as 996 calipers i beleive, the part nos for the correct calipers begins with 996 351 425/426

I thought they were different - but guess not after looking at the part #'s it seems to be colour only...

So I could have a set of front & rear 996 calipers going for sale.... Anyone interested?
