hi, every body i have just been down having a look and its not going to be hard at all making the 1996 s6 discs and calipers fit on to the ufo strut, in the pics you will see tht the hp2 caliper will go on to the strut simply by taking the top mount of the strut off, as this is not required for the hp2 caliper, this leaving the two remaning threads, which simply are needed to be taped to m14 size to fit the caliper, so not very hard work at all and your caliper will be fitted, with this done and out the way we come to the disc, now these discs are the 323mm ones , and unfortunely still dont quite clear the hub, however not by much, i think i may just either grind the hub down a smidgen, or maybe turn out the disc down slightly on the laithe, either way it does not look like a big problem and will not take long , i have added the pictures so you can see were im coming from, i hope his will help some people out there wanting to get rid of the ufo,s while keeping there existing strut, i will be doing it for real in a few months, as my ufo,s still have quite a lot of life in them, when i do ill keep you posted and put all the pics up of the finished job, many thanks craig

I was looking into this a couple of weeks back,if it was me i would press the hub out and turn it down on a lathe I wouldn't take it off the disc for safetys sake plus in future you could just bang on a new set of discs without the hassle of machining them again.I didn't measure the amount that would need to be taken off but i expect it is about 5mmComment

well, already got a bigger compressor wheel fitted to it, which improved torque and response a lot, once ive got the brakes on i will do a race cat with single exhaust, and next year im thniking ball bearing turbo and nice manifold, with a custom map and rs2 injectors, but hence this will not be till next year as i need to save a bit first, and thts about it really,Comment

I'm cheating..............well, already got a bigger compressor wheel fitted to it, which improved torque and response a lot, once ive got the brakes on i will do a race cat with single exhaust, and next year im thniking ball bearing turbo and nice manifold, with a custom map and rs2 injectors, but hence this will not be till next year as i need to save a bit first, and thts about it really,

cheaper and since i'm not doing nothing major to this I might as well give it a shot.Comment

Does anyone have any recommendation on how to press out the hub and where to get it rounded out? I am just about to upgrade my UFO struts to RS2 calipers with 1995 S6 discs (Audi A8) and from somewhere some brackets...... It looks like there are a number of us just about to take the plunge - perhaos we could get a decent source for the brackets?Comment

Any good garage would be able to press out the hub, I have seen people knocking them out with a hammer etc before, depends how hands on you are with the work then any machine shop with a lathe should be able to turn down the edge. Probably end up having to have a pair of new bearings when the hubs get pressed back in tho.Comment
