Audi TD B3 brake upgrade problem! HELP

Hi! Yesterday i tried the brake upgrade but no sucess! :sad:

The Audi 80 is B3 from 1989 and uses single disc 256mm.

Brakes upgrade:

Corrado G60/ S2 calipers + audi coupe 2.2 20v quattro discs vented (276mm 4 studs).


The problem is the disc crash into the "arm" (spindle carrier)

Here you have some pics of the calipers and the arm










I think i need to change the "arm"..

I remember something about CQ20v and S2 having larger front wheel bearings, i.e. different housing.

Are you 100% sure Corrado and S2 are the same callipers?

Its a common thing people getting G60 calipers and G60 corrado mixed up,calipers are single piston on corrados

first of all VW never had girling 60 calipers.

second, you need a disk with different ET (hat height).

coupe 2.2 20v have different front suspension (B4-like, wider arches)

Hi!

The calipers i have are Girling 60 sold as corrado G60.. But the calipers fit. The problem is the disc.

I think the main problem is the disc offset..

I cant find a 276mm with 46,2mm overall as my disk have..

I think i need to change the spindle carrier with hub..

Now what to change? only the spindle carrier? or i have to change more?

I believe if it was a 80 tdi B4, it would be plug&play because the disc have 56,2mm overhall as the disc i bought from 20v.

The suspension of the B4 Tdi is much diferent then mine? arms, arb etc etc

280 disks are ok too.

get some online catalog, and search for the disks for an audi 90 B3 limousine with 20v engine.

hmm, looks like the 90 20v also had 51,5 offset...

Just a thought ,check out part numbers fors the Audi 90 shock/bearing housing,and hub.....the Audi 90 had vent discs

You wont get the B4 v6 dics to fit either i tried that to my B3 Audi 80s,they catch on the hub housing

the audi 90 b3 20v have the same brakes, could it be that it had different wheel bearing housings just because of that?

Anyone can tell me if the instead of B3 was B4 the brake upgrade would be plug&play?

If in B4 tdi works, i can change my spindle carrier to Tdi model.

The brakes are pluged! Really good improvement for an audi B3 TD! And i beleive to Tdi also!

The main diference between B3 and B4 is the Hub dimension! It is the main detail! The Tdi hub is bigger the B3 hub, and its why tdi hub fits the S2 disc!

I know it isn t a good upgrade for a S2 But here is my contribute for people with B3

I can vouch that the brake upgrade is fantastic
i did a 5 stud S2 conversion to my 94 B4 1.9 TDI Audi 80 Avant

The difference was increadable
