Hi,
My Urs6 ,Recently I was experiencing kind of the brake issue.I had been
these kind of experiences a few years ago.I ended up with
new Servo,Bomb and used PS Pump at that times. Now it seems
here we go again.
The symptom is everytimes when first start the engine the (!) light will
stay on for a while or longer.sometimes one hit on the brake, the (!) will
show up again. As my car is automatic tranny,The most annoying thing
is I have to keep my foot on the pedal all the times when I'm in the high
traffic. the (!) will show up with pulsating on the brake pedal(feel like
the ABS is activating all the times.)
I've done the Bomb test procedure.I've got 18-20 times.So I decided
to get the new one from Paul Fernandez. It arrived yesterday and I
finished the bomb job in the evening.one symptom is gone.I can apply
more brake or hit the harder brake without any (!) comes on.but when
I tried to simulate the situation.I engaged in "D" gear and keep the foot
on the brake pedal. With a fews minutes later,The (!) light comes on
and brake pedal pulsating again. It looks like the pressure couldn't
sufficiently in the system.I also done the the bomb test and got
somewhere 13-15 times.it has got lesser times compared to the stock
bomb.
So I hooked up the Brake Servo.I found out that my 3 years life Brake
Servo has been gone.I found the dips of ps oil coming out the rubber
boot. This early morning I replaced the Brake servo. It didn't fix the
thing.
The Bomb I got from Paul Fernandez. He's very helpful.but It seems I still
couldn't hit the point.last times,I fixed the isue by replacing the used PS Pump.
but the PS Pump gave me some hint at that times.the steering wheel became harder
at that times when It's hot.I need to REV up the engine and It became lighter. So I
replaced wit hthe used and FIXED all the things.
Now It seems my steering pump is still functional.I have realized that inside the PS
Pump has 2 seperated ports.one for steering wheel system and another is for braking
assisted system.I have a very little greasy on the hos that running from the pump to
the bomb.I'm pretty sure it is not the cause of this.
I already cleaned up one banjo bolt which has an oil screen line that mounted on the
bomb. But I never known how many banjo bolts with screen lines or any filters inside
the system left.So i can hook them up and cleaning all the messed up.
In case of the weak pump. Can I get the rebuild kits from the dealer.I'm going to DIY.
Anyway,I'm on the way to replace all the system with vacuum Brake Servo from 100
or A6 C4.everything is just bolt right up.I've seen many S-cars in local have done this.
as it's much more cheaper ,easy to diagnose and service in long term.
cheers,

There's a low level sensor in it, either clean it or replace with a shiny new one.
