6 pot is the new 8 pot. 8 pot RS4-b7 a bit too common now so I had to be different ;)

Well... I know, it's insane. But the price was just so good... I haven't even mounted the RS4-b7 ones and used them on the car. Now I won't since these 6 pot Audi Ceramic ones fits brilliantly with my 8pot S2 caliper bracket. =))) In combo with the 380 mm MTM brake disc it kinda looks ridiculous. But there's something with big brakes... I just can't help it.

Sooo... My brackets I sell for the RS4-b7/RS6/R8 black 8 pot calipers works brilliantly for these. There's a post about them in the buy and sell forum it anyone is interested.

Now I have to find Porche Turbo2 replica rims in 19". RH has them, anyone seated those on a 5/112 audi? THey come with some adapter thingy.

I've just got rid of some porsche turbo reps, never seen them in 19's that would look mental, can you get them originally from porsche in 19?

How much did the ceramic brakes set you back and how long are they rated to last, afaik the discs are quite expensive.

      Hey. =)

RH has them in 19 with ET32. Think that would work on the S2. Trying to find a reseller in Sweden for them.

I almost feel bad to say what I payed for this kit. A bit under 1000 EUR. The calipers are brand new but have been handled rough so they have some paint damage, but I want them black or red anyways so that's ok with me. The discs are not brand new but in very good condition. No cracks around the holes or so. The discs are actually not ceramic but MTMs 380 discs. And I didn't get any pads with the kit so that will prolly set me back 500EUR or something.

Did I say that this setup weights A LOT less then the 365mm RS4-b7 setup?

Good question. Bigger just has to be better, right? )

Performance can always be bought. But I know. This is insane, but I just have a thing for brakes.

Sonic: Some ******* will prolly find and mount something even bigger. But this is for sure the final setup for me. I have to mount it all now and just let this whole brake madness end.

:I think you may find 19s to big for the S2 ,18 are pretty much the limit imo ,Handling and ride quality will suffer but each to there own

Ooh. Hmm... Well... 18" wont fit over the new brakes. So guess I just have to try and see. Ayone with 19" on that can give some feedback on how the car feels?

I had 19 inch rs6 reps running 235/35/19 on koni shocks and standard springs, the ride hight was perfect and the ride was brilliant, I would not worry about it, rode better than some of my other cars did on 17's. Only thing I found annoying is the cost per tyre

                      hey neo,

did you bought the mtm discs from ebay.de?

i watched them also and was thinking about the same thing you´re doing now, BUT the 8pot performance in my car is really good enough..

maybe the user "saltinot" is able to confirm this. we had a good check on the 8pot on german autobahn!!

don´t think that the 6pot calipers are "better" or worse than the 8pot, they are made for a different purpose with only one brake-pad on each side for the carbon-discs...

question is though how these ceramic pads are working on a normal steel-disc...

btw you´re thinking that the 8pot are too common now? at the moment i know 5cars in germany, austria and switzerland which are running these brakes..

                      cheers

                        Hey mate. =)

I'm for sure not the corerct guy to say if they are better or not. All I know is that they are bigger and weights quite a lot less then the 8 pot. =) The discs are also lighter then the 365s.

I wasn't serious when I said that the 8 pot conversion was too common. It was more of an eye catcher. Hehehe. I might even end up using my 8pots in the end if new rims turns out to be to expensive.

I didn't buy them from eBay. I bought them from a frind, same guy I bought the 8 pots and my rear stuffs from.

How's your rear conversion coming along?

                        Cheers

                          hi

of course plays the weight of the discs an important role...

you´ll recognise the weight of the 365mm rs4 b7 discs in middlefast corners.. for example 60-100km/h in the city , you definetely need more power to turn the steering wheel for running corners...

much more "turning mass" on the front which has to be moved from one direction to the other direction..

difficult to describe for a person whose mother tongue isn´t english..

my rear setup is still in progress.. but don´t tell anybody.. no time at the moment for that..

the plan is to fix girling 41/43 calipers, rs4 b5 rear brackets, rs4 b5 rear brake discs and to find a f*u*c*k*ing fitting wheel hub... don´t want to go with a spacer under the disc or whatever...

i´ll keep you posted with some fotos, going to check that on some wheel carriers before mounting that on the car..

still a lot of other things to do.. "steel-brake-hoses", V8 torsen on the rear, big rs2 brake booster, all of that stuff that´s here for years...

PS: what brake discs are that btw? the hat is like the phaeton hat? any part numbers on the discs or hat?

                          cheers

Hey wolfgang. =) I understand you totally about the mass and steering.

I'll look into my rear setup in the winter. No time for the car now. =/

The discs are MTM discs, I was told. Took a quick look at their site but had a hard time finding them. I'll see if I can dig up some numbers on them. Think they were from A( or S8.

                            Cheers =)
