    Coupe rear brake hoses

I'm just getting a set of hoses made up for the front 996 brake conversion and thought that while I was at it I would get a set of hoses made up for the rear and replace them as well.

Does anyone know what lengths I'll need and which hose ends?

Or should I just leave the rear hoses alone?

    Cheers

I found a diagram (attached) in another discussion post.

Using these four hoses is an alternative to using 2 hardlines & 2 hoses, if you did want to use hardlines you'd only need 2 of these hoses and not all four. I figured that it would be easier to get the 4 hoses made up by one company rather than trying to source some hardlines as well.

I've had a quote from speedflow for all four hoses - £61.08 inc p&p which seems reasonable.

Rears are about 200 - 250mm long with 10x1mm male fitting on the caliper end and 10x1 female fitting on the chassis end - can measure exactly later if you like

An exact length would be brilliant if you get the chance, are the hose ends both straight?

Pretty sure I used a standard Audi Coupe fwd rear hose (200 mm) and attached a short pipe to it with flared ends and fittings.

The hoses were about £10 and the pipes / fittings were pennies.

Thanks for measuring! Just to be sure is that the length to the tip of the hose ends?

Great, thanks for measuring that for me so quickly! Much appreciated!

I'll be posting results in a few weeks.

                        no worries

IIRC the member who posted those drawings for the 996 front hoses said they were a little bit too long in retrospect - worth having a quick search to read about it if you want a perfect fit

I'd just get either a braided hose from the hardline on the body to the 996 mono or utilise the rs2 hardline to remove one of those flexi's and again a shorter, single braided flexi from the hardline to the body one

that stupid little hardline around the strut is a PITA, as are the RS2 hardlines
