    Brake Pad Warning Sensor

    Hi,

The brake warning light (yellow circular symbol) has stayed on in my car for a few weeks now it has since been in and had the brake servo and master brake cylinder replaced and I know there are no problems with my brakes, fluid pads or calipers; nothing that a porsche upgrade wont solve so the consensus is that the front left sensor has gone the way of the pair - before I replace the sensor - is there a way to fool it to think it is fine - can it be earthed or crossed or spat on or sworn at in elvish?

    Answers on a postcard!

    Thank you.

did the cars come with brake sensors? dunno if the S4 is different to the S2 but S2 doesn't have pad level sensors.

The yellow circular symbol means bulb failure

S4/S6 came with brake pad wear sensors. I've read somewhere that if you just bridge the terminals on the sensor, the light stays off. I need to do it on my own car because I've got non-standard pads that don't have wear sensors, but haven't tried it yet. Let me know how you get on

I damaged my pad sensors when changing pads and disks last time. I must have damaged the cable as it entered the pad but could not see anything.

Just short the wires out and the light does indeed go out. I expected it to work the other way around for some reason but after thinking about it this way makes sense.....
