    HELP - Brake line suppliers?

Guys - i'm running the upgraded brake set up - 996 calipers, A8 discs but need either new RS2 rigid lines (mine broke on removal) OR single braided line to do same job as rigid lines.

where can i source either of these as struggling to find them.

    Ta.

I can't help you with a supplier in the UK (other than suggest a dealer for the RS2 lines). But I got this picture (pdf attached) off this forum, added the scribbles, and am getting 1 piece Goodridge hoses custom made. I measured up the total length of each 1 piece line to be 800mm.

Just got the price today and they'll be cheaper than RS2 hardlines from an Audi dealer here.

Take your broken rs2 line to a local garage, they should be able to make you one for a couple of quid.
Why people buy these rs2 hardlines from the dealer i'll never know. A short length of copper brake pipe with a couple of bends in it. How much do dealers charge for these nowadays anyway?

Couple of excellent replies there - think i like the look of the single braided line given the problems i've had with removing rigid lines from the 996 caliper after years of use.

Will look to find UK supplier - any suggestions out there?

Merlin Motorsport will make you custom Goodridge ones, sure to be someone local to you that does this.

I had a set made up by Speedflow (www.speedflow.co.uk) as they were recommended by another forum member.

The service was great and the lines look very good too, they were available in a choice of colours etc, I'm fitting them on Monday.

                .

Think Automotive made my last lines...perfectly to the mm.

All ss, lines and fittings for a good price.

Speedflow are always good, and very reasonably priced. The lines are very high quality and a very high burst pressure. You can also get coloured lines if that's your thing. Fay @ speedflow knows her stuff don't be afraid to ask!

As a side note my 2 year old Goodrich braided hoses are starting to corrode at the fittings at either end, not overly impressed with the quality of materials used in these "stainless Steel" lines from them.

I'd go with Speedflow, excellent prices and the quality of the product and service froim them is the best I've had

Good point Alex, anyone know the grade of ss these peeps use?

                        Hopefully better than 304.
