rs2 to cayenne 6 pot brake upgrade, whats required?

I have a customer with a 95 RS2 currently with the stock big reds. The braking system is tired and many components need replacement (rotors, new piston seals, etc) but the price from audi is outrageous for these items and the customer is interested in upgrading the brakes while he is at it.

I've read the sticky posts in this forum and see the options for drop-in replacements but I'm wondering about the Cayenne 6 piston calipers, ideally with a 350mm rotor. This upgrade has become pretty popular on the B5 S4 so I'm wondering what would be required to make this work on an RS2? Is the caliper bolt spacing different than the factory strut? Anybody BTDT?

There is a couple of caliper carrier wizards on this forum, I'm sure they can fabricate what you need if its not already available of the shelf.

The bolt spacing is different IIRC, it has been done with a few people on the forum.

Topsparky and Aronmatic2 come to mind

The cayenne caliper bolt spacing is the same as the Euro urS6 and B5 S4s (amongst others) which is probably why it's a popular mod on the newer stuff. Myself and Topsparky have Cayennes on our urS4s but we've both converted to the later HP2 struts. Obviously anything can be done and you'll need a custom bracket which as Jamo says someone on here may be able to help you with.

Would the Porsche GT3 6 pots be an easier route for an RS2 upgrade?

The GT3 / Turbo 6pots / C4s Big 4pots need custom brackets too due to bigger bolt spacing IIRC
I heard the cayenne calipers were horrendously heavy, anyone know what they weigh?

Of course, but I wondered whether this conversion may be a more popular route and therefore the brackets could be more readily available.

I think Kev Aka Bambridge is looking at doing a carrier for the "Bigger Reds" (I know I measured a set up for him some time ago....)

                I.e. 996-351-429 & 430 caliper with the hole centers of 140mm

Opposed to the S2 conversion 996-351-425/426 130mm calipers...

As far as I know & I stand to be corrected... Most of the bigger calipers have the 140mm hole centers...
