pads that work on RS2 calipers

    Hey guys/gals,

I read in another thread that someone managed to fit a pad from a Ferrari caliper in the stock rs2 big reds up front, does anyone have details on this? Any other pad options I should be aware of other than the dealer only RS2 pads?

While I'm on the topic of RS2 brake parts - I need to find a source for an RS2 brake servo (LHD - PN 8A1612099) or compatible. Anything in the US or am I stuck sourcing something used from europe?

I came up with plenty of posts explaining how to retrofit 993 calipers and even a post by a guy mentioning Ferrari pads but he didn't seem very sure of what application. Just want to be sure before I spend stupid money on Rs2 pads if I can avoid it.

GT500, are those more suited to a track car; as I could use some new front pads on my RS2 (big reds) but it's road use only?

They work superb in both places, I always have them in my road car as do all my customers RS2s. They work from clap cold with loads of bite. They are a good price also!

Give them a try and report back!

What price are these pads? I've been using Pagid RS29's which are also ceramic, although are a bit pricey. Would be great to find a cheaper alternative.

So according to a mintex product sheet I'm looking at the RS2 front big red pads are 131.8mm wide x 75mm high and cross with a bunch of porsche calipers, such as the 928 GTS. Can anybody confirm this? Asking any of my US suppliers for RS2 brake pads doesn't get me very far... having a known compatible Porsche pad would help.

The guy with the Ferrari pads it's me.
But i can suggest to get yourself the Galfer pads (Ferrari ones have Galfer compound on them..)
                        You can save money.

For the brake servo do you mean the bomb?
I got one for my 1.8L Cabrio that has the same bomb as the RS2 and i got a very good deal with Paul Fern in Luxembourg.
                        Very nice and reliable seller.
I got mine for 144,00 euros delivered to Italy vs 340 euros from Audi.. the part look 100% OEM to me and works perfectly.

This is Paul Fern web page:

There was a list of Porsche brake parts discs and pads somewhere in the forum but I can't find right now.... I'm sure someone can dig it out for you.

there was a thread that showed 'swap' options for calipers and rotors but it didn't really discuss what pads cross directly with the RS2 calipers (It did mention rotors that interchange though). Unless you are talking about a different thread? The one I'm thinking of was in a word .doc.

And on the servo, I really mean the servo, not the bomb. Also known as the brake booster.
