    Which Brake Upgarde For UR?

I would like to hear from anyone on here who has a brake upgrade on their UR.

I'm going to use a 17" rim, so I'd like to know what the biggest and best set-up is that I can use.

I've already had comms. from Robo on the Quattroforum who has suggested swapping the struts to S2. This way the brake upgrades that have been done on here will bolt straight on. However I would like to keep the original UR struts at this moment in time mainly due to cost.

As always any feedback is most welcome!

    Ask Kev aka Bambridge....

He has made some brackets for the UR and they use the Boxster 986 Front calipers (which I have a set for sale)... and they fit under the UR OEM Wheels....

The other guy to ask is John Johnson, as I think he nas looked into this also..

Didn't know you had them on the UR too. Which one, red, white or blue?

Read the post from Will which made sense. Just gathering opinions on here before I decide which way to go.

          Cheers.

Blue, but not tried em, there all mothballed for winter.... No brainer Steve with decent pads for what you want, cannons were very very sharp and his car shifts

Big Reds Sounds like one heck of an upgrade!!!

I guess you would need at least 18" wheels to get em to fit!! & a Custom made bracket as the mounting holes are 140mm apart rather than the 130mm on the standard 996 calipers....

What have you got on the rears?

you cant use a8 discs on the ur hub though. The hat height is to high. THis is the problem im having, trying to find a suitable disc thats similar spec to the a8 323mm that is compatible with the ur hub

Had the same problem on spinks old 100Q, had to use a 321mm disk from a 2.7 S4, has a smaller hat height.

                            Hi Martin,

That sounds pretty close re. a 321mm disc.

What callipers were you using with the S4 disc and do you have a part number for it?

I used the 996.351.425/6 monoblocs (996/boxster s front calipers). I'd prefer these to the 986's tbh due to them having bigger pistons. I made the brackets.
