Anyone happen to know if there is a shelf life for brake fluid. Have a couple of unopened bottle of Castrol Dot 4 fluid which have been sat in the garage for about 18months. Should i buy fresh or just use this???
I know Motul nitrogen fill their bottles to extend shelf life...
If they are unopened they should be fine.I bought a brake fluid tester to test some old fluid, very useful little tool.Basically tests if it has absorbed any moisture.
If its sealed properley, you should not have a problem with moisture contamination
