Brake pressure regulator bypass mk2 golf

As I'm now self employed and running on very, very tight budget. I have started using my mk2 golf to go about my business. (37.9mpg

The only problem (apart from the back box thats about to fall off) is the brake pressure regulator as it's leaking big style. I'ts £50+ from GSF.

The car is fine under braking even though there is no tension on the regulator spring with the car on the ground or in the air with no load on the rear suspension.

So the question is can I safely run the car with the regulator bypassed ?

As far as I can tell it is effectively bypassed already by being so poorly adjusted.

Can I just make some pipes up with 2x female ends and do away with it ?

    All opinions welcome

    cheers
