    Has anybody used 8D0 615 301 K brake disc

    I did a search here and no joy, just wondering if anybody experimented with this disc, a brembo 4 pot and a standard avus rim?

    8D0 615 301 K or the more recent version 8E0 615 301 AD

    This disc was used on the following cars and so will be available for many many years for a reasonable price:

    Diameter = 321 / 320 mm, Mounting Diameter 68mm, Thickness 30mm, 5x112 Mounting, Hat Height 46.2mm.

    I know about the a8 314mm and the other 323mm discs but this disc would allow the original dust shield to remain and be modified into an air cooler.

    All ideas welcome..

    Can't comment on your request...

    But I do know that when we fitted my 996 fronts and used the 323 A8 Discs, the brake shield was not an issue...

    but mine is a 93 car...

      splash shield is least of your worries here... The hat height is all wrong... you will need a ~6mm spacer between disc and hub to place it in same location as S2 disc and you cannot know if the 8D0 caliper-carrier for that disc is going to line things up any better. You'll need a version of the rear caliper to work with 22mm vented discs - thon one from RR and UrS4/S6 with 447 part number prefix will work well on Coupe if the disc and carrier is correctly located.

      The only way to know for sure is to buy & try then plan on reselling them on eBay if it doesn't work out.

        Thanks guys, I actually went searching for a different hat height. I'm looking at the whole front brake thing all over again and trying to get a bit more space between the disc and the leg. 6.25mm might just be enough.

        Does anyone happen to have one lying around anywhere?

          sorry - disregard my previous post... I had somehow thought this was a rear disc application. I'm too tired to think straight anymore.

            Ah now I understand what you were talking about Paul. When I get the fronts sorted I'll get to the rears.

            Looks like I'll have to have a chat with my friendly parts man about one of these discs for a day or two...
