    Boxter S calipers

    Hi Everyone,

Just aquired a set of Boxster S front callipers, calliper brackets, A8 discs and RS2 brake lines but dont know where to get the calliper attachments from (the section that joins the calliper to the RS2 brake lines) any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum Alun . There is a lot of discussion about this conversion. The RS2 pipe is correct but too short. You could get a pipe made by a local car shop M10x1mm short olives are required (same as Ford). I am going to get round to making some for myself very soon, when I have a second. I will let you know the length when I have done it if you can wait a bit.

The RS2 pipe will fit directly onto the 996/Boxter S calipers. You just need to bend it slightly as the fluid entry point on the RS2 calipers was offset.

Thanks for the replys i think i only got 1 section of the brake hoses from VAGParts as there was no calliper attatchment just two hoses with female screw fittings at both ends. Will ring VAG tommorow and see if i have the correct parts.

That flexible hose is the same as the S2 and the coupe Quattro i believe. The second flexible hose for the Giorling sliding caliper ( on the leg itself) is not needed. The RS2 steel pipe as shown in the photo above is what you need. This goes between the caliper and the flexible hose.

When I did the 996 front brakes on my coupe, I made my own RS2 hard lines. Worked out well. But I found one problem, having a hard line running to the calipers made it hard to change rotors, remove axles, hub carriers, etc. So I researched what stock hoses I could use to replace them. That way I could just hang the caliper out of the way, when I wanted to work on the rest of the front suspension.

The hose length on the front of a coupe with Girling G60s, is 160mm. These will not work with 996 brake calipers, because the hose is too short. I ended up using Coupe rear hoses to replace the hard line. They are 250mm in length and works just fine. Part number is 893 611 775. So all you have to do is change the brake hose.
