    Front braided lines, strut-chassis only!

I need to sort the S2 out to get it MOT'd for 24th July! Looks like I've got a bit more time on the fuel lines, but the front strut-caliper rubber hoses will fail. Both sides are splitting really badly!

The caliper-strut section is already braided, and I've got a garage lined up to remove the old lines and cut + re-flare if needed... all I need is some hoses! I've had a search and I can find full kits... nothing just for fronts.

Anyone got a part number for goodridge or equivalent for the front upper braided hoses only? Or even a complete front kit? As time is of the essence I'd rather not get single hoses and have to sort mounting points. Failing that, any advice as to what length/size/fitting would be needed and perhaps I can get a custom set made. Need to get these by the weekend!

OK so my research shows that the VAG parts kit for the fronts I need was 310mm in length, with M10x1mm female ends. But I've also read the ends are 3/8x24 female.

    Can anyone confirm?

    Thanks

to get it through, could just do stock there as its only a short section and the rest is braided so there wont be much flex in the line, especially if they are new....thats what i did with mine when i rebuilt it and then just ran the rs2 hardlines to the calipers from the strut

Ross, get yourself to merlin motorsport within castle combe circuit grounds they will make up hoses there and then (10 mins) and have lots of fittings in stock so can do anything

Just take measurements using some old windscreen washer hose of what length hose you need including fittings, oh and what connections you need and jobs a good'un

I ran a braided hose from my 'firewall' straight to the caliper and threw away my hardlines on my s4

Would be great if you could Mike - I just ordered a pair today, would be great to see if they'll fit

I took a part no from Martin and called Ben who checked it's stock length @ 285mm... also mentioned that he once ordered the goodridge hoses that were approx 10mm too long. When i spoke to Merlin Motorsport they mentioned the 'front' was 150mm and the 'rear' was 295mm, both M10x1.00 female connectors. Went for the latter as I'm sure they had it backwards!

              Should be here tomorrow

All fitted, great service by Merlin Motorsport, made them up and sent them out first class the same day

I can't believe how much difference this has made. I now have confidence in my 996's again. I though the brakes lacked feel, they were vague and took alot of stick to slow the car; now they are firm and responsive with good feel. Completely transformed
