    Avant Brakes

Gentelmen/ladies. Been looking through many old threads and been most usefull. However as is the nature a "threads" they sometimes go off-topic or totally confuse you with other better/expensive options.

This is probably one of the most coverd topics on the forum but still: Im (and probably many others?) am still not 100% sure on.

So keeping it simple:- really SIMPLE!

Would I be correct in saying the folllowing.........

8e0 300mm S4 disks / calipers are 100% a bolt-on option for the rear with a bit of a modification to the h-brake cable or getting a longer one, etc. (what about the brake pipes/lines/bolts,etc?)

With regard to the A8 disc/porsche caliper front end set up which is very well documented -so I got no excuse on this!- (would I be correct in saying that some one on the forum sometime sells these as a complete set up - ready to "go") - who? / how much ?

    Thank you.

Sorry if the above sounds a bit stupid but just want to get everything correct before I part with my "hard earned". Not all of us can afford to get it wrong.

    I await sarcasm.

you can use your bracket bolts, a little too short but still ok. s4 line is short, but you can sonnect it to your line and it works ok.

Was looking at doing the front kits, using my brackets and his calipers

8E0 300mm discs with 8E0 carriers and matching 8E0 calipers do indeed bolt straight onto the rear of S2 Avant. There is minor modification required to make the handbrake perfect. Check for posts from 's2avant' on this - he was one of the first to actually fit them to his Avant.

You are right to be careful though - that stuff is expensive and you wouldn't want to make the wrong assumption.
