    Drilled discs question

If you have a drilled disc like this one...

You would have thought that the discs are handed and that the RH disc would be a mirror image, right?

The reason I'm asking is that I've now sold this kit and it's with it's new owner. He's fitted them but is saying I've sent him 2off LH discs. Now I must admit I never even checked the other disc, I only opened the one in the picture. I've checked with ECP, who I got the discs from and they only list one part number, they have checked with ATE and they too have said they only do one part number for these discs. I've checked this myself on their online catalogue, same with Pagid.

Does this sound right? any commets appreciated.

I know that "Some" Porsche Front drilled discs come handed and they have different part numbers...

But I seem to remember that when I bought RS6 discs they came as a set and I ams sure they were both different!

I thing the Porsche discs are handed not just for the holes but they also have tapered vents that I guess flow the air in a certain direction...

IMO For what that's worth it seems like your buyer may have a point!

Are the internal cooling vanes cheked?
Its the cooling sills inside the disc which decide what side (right or left) they should be on, based on what way they lean towards. If the vanes don't lean one or the other direction, but goes straight out of center of disc, then it is not important which disc you use one what side, since they are alike.

Like this with directional leand vanes:

Like this with straight out of center vanes:

Since there is only one part number it could indicate that its a disc with straight vanes only.
But I think it sounds not right, due to the size and producer of the disc.

I've bought Porsche discs before so I know they use a different part number for RH and LH, but if you look here:-

They only list one number and this is what I bought x2

              Hello.
              The new Owner is me.

First time I saw the holes and later I saw the vans, because I know that some discs have hoses on one direction and vans on other; other ones in the same side and other like some brembos, no have vans direction.

Well. I saw the vans and the look like directional vans.
              I'll see othertime with something.

              PS: some pictures

As Anders says, they're handed for the internal ventilation so looks like there are indeed 2 discs the same side.

IMO, ditch the drilled discs, they're a waste of time.

Hi! I´m a friend of M_Gordon and the discs seems to be clearly directional so I think there will be two references, one for each disc or the reference would be for the both and then the kit comes with one LH and other RH.

The only way I could think is that you dealer have a mistake with this kit...

I called in at my local Merc dealer today and had a look at this car

                            http://www.jct600.co.uk/dealerships/...08ecz-16115151

As you can see the discs on the RH side do appear to run backwards. I checked with the parts dept and they confirmed that there is only one part number for the discs and that what I'm seeing is normal. Strange but true.
