brake light flashes when you brake

Hello all

I am looking for some help advice.

my friend has a n reg B4 Audi Cab with 1.8 20v engine. Now ever since he bought it about a year ago once in a while when you press on the brake pedal the red brake light on the dash flashes. Once he comes off the pedal a few second later it stops.

I have vagcomed the car and no fault codes.

any idea what it could be?

time ti wire brush the light boards at the rear of the car...there will likely be some corrosion on the tracks causing the odd disco lights in my experience BTDT
