Has anyone changed over an abs pump on a 3b? What sort of size of job is it?

    cheers

one of the few things on a 3b with good access. shouldn't be too hard to physically change the unit, though i imagine there must be some guidance for how to bleed the brake circuit and clutch once the new one is installed?

      Truly trivial - I just moved a 3B pump into an ur-quattro.

Thin flat-blade screwdriver for the cover, 11mm flare nut spanner (Williams Superslim) for the brake pipe connections, 10mm 1/4" drive socket for the mounting nuts. Just unbolt, remount and bleed - don't forget the proportioning valve.

Why are you changing it - I've never known one fail?

The pump is making a lot of noise when you start up the car, causing abs light to come on. Do you perhaps think there is another possible issue?

First thing to check is the voltage. The ABS pump is one of the first components to play up if the alternator starts underperforming.
