    Annoying noise from front, URS4

Hey guys i recently pulled my front struts out on my urs4, installed some koni's, diff springs and some 2b strut tops and since ive put it all back together whenever i drive i can hear a very annoying kind of metallic rubbing noise that sounds like its coming from the lh/rh front end. it doesn't go away if i apply the brake but will sometimes dissapear completely for a few seconds then come back, i haven't figured out how to isolate the sound yet.
its got HP2 brakes on, no UFO's.
i ripped the wheels off to make sure i hadn't put the disc stone shields on back to front and they are ok and i checked the wheel bearing bolt tightness and spun them to see if they sounded/felt notchy but the wheel bearings seem to be fine.
its only started doing this since iv removed/reinstalled the front struts but im damned if i can see what ive done wrong :S.
i was happy to get rid of my annoyng front end clunk (my strut top mounts where rooted) only to now have this equally annoying sound
    anyone come across this before?
    cheers.

Those 2Bennett top plates have NO rubber in them to dampen vibrations from say, worn CV joints or hub bearings, like the OE plates do.

It's a long shot I know but...... it was so hilarious for me that perhaps will help somebody else?

Got a frustrating knock on uneven surfaces or little bumps took everything out severals times....

Eventually it was the carbon canister inside the righthand wing/fender that had lost a screw.

Still swearing for the amount of time and parts I checked/doublechecked/triplechecked.
      The lesson I learned it's:

Check inside your wings/fenders that everything that it's hanged up there (and there's stuff there) it's properly fixed and rubber mounted.

its not a vibration or knock or anything like that n the sound doesn't change when i go from left to right while driving like a worn wheel bearing would do. the car drives pretty smooth now actually, it almost sounds like the pads are contacting the disc all the time, like rubbing two metallic surfaces together. but when i took the wheels off to have a look eveything looks ok
i mite take all the brakes n **** off again and double check when i have the time.
ye i checked everything in the bay to make sure things are fixed the way they should be, everything is sweet.

ive jacked it up n ripped off the wheels to have a look, haven't really found anything that looks like it could be touching, the pads are butting right up against the disc but aren't leaving marks on the disc so i can't imagine they are bitting into it or anything making the sound.
it makes the sound whether the disc is turning indepently or if the drive shaft etc is turning with it.
i checked out the shaft and it looks like its sitting very tight in the hub and am unsure whether thats right, iv used the same bolt that i used when i took the shaft out so i can't imagine its sitting in the incorrect spot in the hub.
this sound is really starting to **** me as i have no idea where it could be coming from .
