    Porsche brake caliper tool...?

What's the best tool to use for removing the pad-retaining clip on the RS2 calipers? Is there a custom tool, or an off-the-shelf item that does a perfect job?
Had a nightmare fighting with mole-grips and spanners today.

Just a set of pliers squeeze together, it should then pop out normally should be no problem

Do you mean the Pin that goes through the top of the calipers, that holds the pads in place??

If Yes What I have done is grind down an old Philips head screwdriver so it has a flat face and then knock the pin out with this and a rubber mallet, whilst holding the pads in place...

If you mean the pistons then as the other guys have said - But don't forget to remove the cap from the header tank....

The RS2 caliper doesn't have a pin like the 996(?). It has a sprung clip that needs compressed for removal.

Depends on the girth of the pliers. In this case thinner might be better. But not to thin.

Yep, that was the problem with my mole grips, they were to broad to fit in the middle slot of the clip.
