    Solid Brake Lines

Has any body ever made their own solid brake lines?

An 'event' has caused the need for me to put atleast 1 new rear brake line section in.

I'm thinking a wade connector to connect it up to the old line but the other end im not too sure.

From what i can tell they use a bubble fare to the end of the solid line but what unions are used?

Yes they are a bubble flare, they use a 10mm x 1mm pitch male back nut 15mm long.

Take care that...i used the 10mm long threaded pieces...not 15mm.
They worked....but ...indeed...will be better to use the 15mm ones.

don't use a wade connector or you will crash and die screaming like a pig in a war (probably)
to join the lines together, use a female-female thread coupling, with male unions on either end of the pipe to be joined, with a flare as per the flexi line end

Yes I agree, you don't need to join anyway as IIRC the rear lines go into a T piece so you just make a new line from this to the wheel arch .

How long is the one you need, I have one here I made up for the front, I made both up as the drivers side one nut had rounded off, the passenger side one was OK so I didn't replace it.
It is 750mm if it is any use you can have it for postage cost, it's cupro nickel not **** copper also.

I'll measure if up in the morning but that sounds about right.

I think i might end up doing them all though, can't have 1 shiny line on there

Should have seen that joint earlier...was mounting the fuel filter up!

A bit longer won't matter, you just don't want them too short as they may bottom out before they clamp the seal tight.
