Brake wear warning light on dash.

When I bought the car it had this warning on the dash. When I changed the brakes earlier this year I found the passenger side wire had been damaged so thought that was the problem so I connected the wires together so it would get a signal and cancel the fault. This never worked. So I also done the same on the drivers side. Still have warning. Brakes and and work fine.

Any ideas.

by connecting the wires you have complete the circuit that lights the warning lamp. you need to split the wires

Oh different to my old vauxhall. I had to join them. Will give it a go. Cheers

I had one of the connectors melt on my a6,had to cut it off and join.Something may have happened inside one of yours

Think I will trace it back into engine bay and take it from there.
