    URS4 bigger front brakes?

    Hi everybody,

I have URS4, but previous owner changed stock front brakes and put complete brakes (wheel hubs, calipers and "solid" discs) from Audi 100 2.0

I was wondering, is there any solution to put bigger brakes, something like A8 typ 4D 314mm front discs and is this bolt on swap if I buy A8 wheel hubs, calipers and discs?

Is there any other "bolt on" solution in this price range if A8 typD4 is not the option?

    Best regards!

I am guessing that your UrS4 is a relatively early build 1992 (NN00nnnn VIN) that originally came with the V8 style UFO brakes and that when the UFO brakes failed the previous owner installed the A100 uprights.

The cheapest solution now is to find some UrS4/S6 HP2 uprights and calipers, etc. and install them.

It would be if you still had the UFO uprights/wheel bearing housings. But you don't you have some Audi 100 uprights that are different. That said, the idea in that thread might work for you. (The problem is the Center-to-center bolt spacing on the caliper carriers/brackets (the bit that attaches the caliper to the hub) has to be compatible with the hole spacing in the wheel bearing housing/hub carrier).

                  Yeah, I saw that

Nothing than I'll bought 288mm vented discs with calipers and carriers (I have one complet for 60e from my friend) and and put them. This is not rally car, just daily/city driver, so it would be enough

                  Thanks everybody again.

I just updated that wheel bearing post with a couple of diagrams that show the wheel bearing housing PNs that were referenced in the text.

If you are stuck with the C4 Audi 100 4A0412025 AA(left = odd), 026 AA (right) wheel bearing housings, there is a trick using TT quattro front brake caliper carriers that at least allows you to use A8 rotors by moving the 100 caliper further away from the axel center line:

you can also use 323mm on HP2 brakes , and I think it is better solution than 314 (stock disk) .
with little custom caliper carrier you can make a perfect brake sistem.
only question is what size of wheel you will have on car.
                      HP2 314mm - 16" minimum
                      HP2 323mm - 17" minimum

be careful . don't be stupid like I was. at winter of 2007. I bought new winter tires for 15" BBS wheels , and refresh that wheels. than at summer of 2008. I put HP2 on car , and totaly forget for winter tires. than snow came at winter, I take my pretty wheels with new tires , WTF ????
NO CHANCE to put it on brakes

His problem is that he never had HP2 brakes. The car is probably an early UrS4 that came with UFOs, not HP2s. He now has the C4 V6 uprights and hub carriers which are not compatible with either the HP2s or even the NAmerican UrS4/6 G60s.

This is probably close to what he has now (single piston on 288 x 15 rotors):

I know that , and I also said that he need "little custom caliper carier" , and if he will use HP2 on 323mm disck , custom carier will be easyer to make.
