    Brake caliper painting

Alright guys, can anyone offer any advice on caliper painting? Ive got some AP's to go on the front which ive painted up and to be honest, i think David Blunkett could've done a better job using his dogs tail

I rubbed over the original paint then used hammerite smooth black which i brushed on (looked******) the second caliper i tried hammerite spray which was like piss runny and looked liked it would've required about 50 coats.

Can anyone recommend any other spray paint up to the job? Also though about getting them blasted and powder coated, would this mean i'd need to removed all of the seals and split them etc before hand?*

How much roughly should i expect to pay for that?
    Thanks

I just refurbed some 993 Brembo callipers, I used Hammerite red spray, make sure the paint can is properly shaken. I applied a thin coat and built the coats up it took approximately 5 coats. Just make sure when you spray the callipers its somewhere near room temperature.

Thanks. I warmed up the can and caliper then gave it a good shake, think i was impatient with it which was the main problem, took forever to dry though. Ive got plenty left so ill try again with that without putting too much on in one go.

This is the first time I've refurbed my brakes. I spent a while rubbing them down and then around five coatsof high temp. caliper paint to cover. What do you think?

            Hammerite is ****.
I have tried DIY painting calipers with various products over the years and nothing lasts.
Do it right and get them blasted and powder coated or sprayed with 2k. Obviously this will require a strip and rebuild, no need to replace anything unless necessary.
Speak to Rob (GT500) he will do it right

I used the VHT engine enamel. Used a red base coat and then topped it up with the clear. It worked really well. I baked mine in the oven as suggested in the directions but had to paint the base coat first, bake and then wait a week before overcoating with the clear and then bake again!
