I was perfectly happy with the Reds until I had my recent problem with them - one of the pads browe away from the metal backing plate, which is why I moved over to the Ferodos.

The Reds have great stopping power and work very well with little/no fade when driving with purpose. I would say (and it's not a cliche, it's true) that they lack a little in feel, and in genuine cold bite. They produce surprisingly little amount of brake pad dust, which is good!

I was very impressed with my Reds on the track day at Bedford this year -I was also using them on the rears. I now have Greens on the rear, which do have more bite than Reds - for a while I was running Reds up front with Greens on the rear, which although EBC told me not do do that, it worked well for me, at least until the pad malfunction.

For £80 the Reds do offer a significant brake improvement vs. stock. I think if I hadn't suffered the pad failure, I'd still be running them.

I think Ferodo are now doing the DS2500 for our stock Rear calipers?

I'm afraid my knowledge of the different sizes of the Brembo calipers is limited - if you know what the donor car was, you can visit the Ferodo website and they have an online application guide thingie so you could find out from there? That thingie seems to suggest you can get DS2500s for the rear stock S2 caliper now too, which is interesting.
