  • RS2 Standard Brake part # Audi and Porsche

I have to get new pads and rotor for my RS2 standard set up and is looking Porsche part replacement due to lower cost and wider selection. After reading across a few forums, I couldn't find a certain answer with cross references. This is what I gathered and would like to see if anyone can confirm these part numbers.

Front pads, if 993-351-939-01 does fit into an RS2, does that mean I can use any pads that say they fit a regular 993 ?

Front rotor, the part 965-351-041-01 seems to be quite hard to find. Is there any other parts that fit ?

    Front - 304x32mm
    Front Rotor - 8A0615301B(L) 8A0615302B(R) [ 965-351-041-01(Mono) 965-351-042-01 (Drilled) ]
    Pad Damper - 8A0615231D x4
    Front Pad - 8A0698151F [ 993-351-939-01 ]
    Repair Kit - 8A0698430, 8A0698430A

    Rear - 299x24mm
    Rear Rotor - 8A0615601C(L/R) [965-351-041-01(Mono) 965-351-042-01 (Drilled) ]
    Pad Damper - 8A0615231B x4
    Rear Pad - 8A0698451A [965-352-939-04]
    Repair Kit - 8A06986308, A0698630A

There is no porsche part for the rear disc ( rotor ) drilled we've btdt many a time. It's an Audi only part.

There is a solid non drilled one from I think the 968 off the top of my head and aftermarket drilled is from Zimmerman

That rear would be from a late 928. No cross drilled option from Porsche on the rears, but there is a drilled option available from Zimmy.

A couple of pics from my build thread of the Zimmy non-drilled rears on an RS2 hub.

The Porsche equivalent for the front pads would be any pad that would fit a non-turbo 993. The rotor on a car with 304mm discs....I will need to check my notes.

              FRONT DISC: 928 351 043 60/ 928 351 044 60 LEFT & RIGHT
              FRONT PADS: 993 351 393 01 - TEXTAR: KBA 60253 Ifound they are best

              REAR DISC: 951 352 041 01

I have been using these for the last 10 years on my Standard RS2, the disc's do not have holes.

Hi gvr, did you mean 99335193901 instead of 99335139301 for the front pad ?

                    Hi Wowow,
I found invoice and rear pads are correct part number 965 352 939 04
I found porsche pads dont last long, found Ferodo and Textar to be best for duration.

                          RS2 rear caliper piston size

RS2 originally can have two types of rear brakes: 290mm and 299mm. Question is about calipers pistons ... catalog is showing 28mm and 30mm,
so normally and logically thinking should be 28mm pistons for 290mm brake discs and 30mm pistons for (modified vehicles) 299mm brake discs ? Can't be other way around ? ....
What is strange to me that catalog is showing that in both ways calipers are the same 8A0615405M (left) & 8A0615406M (right)

The piston sizes are 28mm and 30mm in the same calliper, so the 28mm is leading 30mm trailing for pad chamfer. They are definitely handed and have an arrow cast onto the calliper body on the Porsche lettering side.
