    changing front pads

    Hi all,

I have a short question. I want to change my front brake pads. what is the best way to do this?. Loosen the 2 number 17 nuts or the the smaller ones, 13 I think?.

    thanks,

    Erik

When i changed my pads i removed the 2 caliper carrier bolts, move the caliper out the way, bin old pads, compress caliper with a pair of swan neck pliers with the cap off the fluid resevoir, then put it back together again

cant remember what sizes they were tho, was last year i done them.

Undo the lower 13mm bolt. Swing the caliper up and remove the pads. Push the pistons on the caliper out and close the caliper again and secure with a new 13mm guide pin bolt

hmm, just changed the pads, diaphragm, lamdasonde and the spark plugs.

I changed the pads the way ant mentioned, was not that difficult. Maybe mikes2 solution will even be easier. Will try that next time.

        Thanks for the answeres

the way i described makes it easiest, also allows for disc change as well.

its not a hard job at all and the swan necks are def the way to compress the caliper back.

glad you got on ok with it, i had to use a pole on the ratchet to undo those bolts on mine... were v v v tight / seized
