    This happened

    Braking for a junction

    I went.....

    FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...........

Pedal went to the floor, anus clamped shut, many varied expletives screamed at oncoming cars.

Anybody got a good supplier for custom braided hoses.

        holy crud batman!!
my braided hoses don't look a great deal better than those.
I may have to invest in some new ones!

Any recommendations folkes. Including suggestions for if you have 996 brakes may be useful?

They were part of the compbrake kit, don't know specifically what type.
I've bodged it together temporarily with 2* audi TT hoses joined with a male-male in the middle.

I've inspected the whole lot but I'm still going to replace them now cos I cant trust hoses that may burst.

They are 600mm long m10*1 female on both ends.

BTDT many years ago with goodridge hoses, you have to very careful not to kink or damage the metal sleeving in any way. The inner line is only plastic and will just split without the outer wrapping. The one that failed for me was rubbing on a cv boot, wore through a few stands and went pop!

I've had a Goodridge fail too after only 12 months!! Fortunately I'd just pulled off my driveway when I realised. I replaced all mine with HEL lines.

**** that is dodgy. Glad you are ok. Im about to fit 996 brakes to my 90Q with full S2 running gear and i will be getting hoses made up. Im thinking HEL after hearing the stories of goodridge. They would be m10*1 males into the caliper and then female on the other end into a male fitting on the solid brake line on the body with the hose fed through the original mount on the strut to keep it out of the way. Im sure on length yet though.

yeah they look identical to mine which are goodrich, funny I started having doubts about mine when the "stainless steel" started rusting. The fact they are supplied by compbrake seals the deal in terms of quality IMHO.

Quite scary them going like that, whenever I service the car I always cover the brake and fuel lines with waxoyl to give them a bit of protection
